In our new campaign, we cross-collaborate with Slachtofferhulp Nederland and reach out to the Dutch Ballroom community to discuss the power of formal and informal support.

Ballroom culture, as a vibrant and transformative subculture within the LGBTQIA+ community, began in the 1920s in New York City, primarily within Black and Latinx communities. Its roots are deeply tied to resilience, self-expression, and the creation of safe spaces in response to systemic oppression and exclusion.

For this groundbreaking campaign, we worked with the Iconic House of Mugler, the Elite Kiki House of Bodega, the Legendary Kiki House of Angels, and the undeniable Haus of Bassquiat, among others, to discuss where they find support.

Slachtofferhulp Nederland is the Victim Support Organisation in The Netherlands. We work closely on initiatives including peer contact groups (lotgenotengroepen) for male victims of sexual violence.
