A lotgenotengroep is a peer support group where individuals with shared experiences, such as trauma, come together to connect, share, and support one another in a safe and non-judgmental setting. A lotgenotengroep offers survivors the opportunity to speak openly with others who have gone through similar experiences, helping to reduce feelings of isolation, validate their emotions, and foster healing through mutual understanding and solidarity. These groups are facilitated by professionals, and are often an important complement to therapy.
